+ BACKGROUND

Zainab is an Associate at Sutherland Law whose practice is primarily focused on complex civil and commercial litigation matters. In keeping with the firm’s recognition of the interconnectedness of legal domains, Zainab’s distinctive caseload includes loan and contract enforcement, construction disputes, representation of creditors in bankruptcy and fraud matters, secured transaction enforcement and land use issues.

Zainab is also well-versed in representing clients in transactional matters including real estate purchases, sales and leased, asset purchased, business mergers, creation of new business entities and development and documentation of financial relationships. Her clients derive the benefit of tailored advice regarding business decisions and disputes and their legal impact allowing them to handle issues proactively and effectively.

Zainab graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University and went on to achieve her Honours Bachelor of Law degree from City, University of London. While attending law school, Zainab excelled in mooting competitions and was the first-place award recipient of the Human Rights Lawyers Association Judicial Review Moot. She was also an active member of the City University Pro Bono Society and provided pro bono legal advice at the Kensington and Chelsea Citizens Advice.
